THE FEAR OF YAH — PART 2
The Deadly Sin of Fearing Man and Loving the World
Series: Values of the Elect — Value #1, Part 2
Author: Bishop Jaha
Introduction
In the first part of our study on the Fear of YAH, we learned that holy fear produces obedience, reverence, and wisdom. It is not merely respect—it is dread, awe, and trembling before His holiness and authority. Without this holy terror, mankind takes YAH lightly, forgetting that He judges both the living and the dead.
But as dangerous as it is to lose the Fear of YAH, it is equally deadly to fear man and love the world. Scripture reveals that fearing man leads to bondage, and loving the world leads to spiritual death. In this lesson, we will expose both sins and rediscover why true fear belongs to YAH alone.
Twelve Lessons on The Fear of Man and Worldliness
1: From Human Fear to Divine Safety
Proverbs 29:25 (ISV)
25) Fearing any human being is a trap, but confiding in YAH keeps anyone safe.
Bishop's Insight:
To fear man is to live in chains, but trusting in YAH will set you free and you will be safe.
2: Fear the One who Claims both Flesh and Spirit
Matthew 10:28 (ISV)
28) Stop being afraid of those who kill the body but can't kill the soul. Instead, be afraid of the one who can destroy both body and soul in hell.
Bishop's Insight:
The power of man ends at the grave, but the power of YAH rules beyond it. Fear no man, but tremble before the One who holds eternity in His hands.
3: Find Shelter in YAH, Not in Man
Psalm 118:8 (ISV)
8) It is better to take shelter in YAH than to trust in people.
Bishop's Insight:
Trusting man is building on sand; trusting YAH is building on the Rock. Safety belongs only to those who take shelter in Him.
4: Defy the Fears of the Masses, Fear YAH alone
Isaiah 8:12–13 (ISV)
12) Don't call conspiracy everything that this people calls conspiracy, and don't fear what they fear, or live in terror.
13) YAH, Commander of the Heavenly Armies— he's the one you are to regard as holy. Let him be the one whom you fear, and let him be the one before whom you stand in terror!
Bishop's Insight:
Do not live in the fear and terror of this world, which is a snare. Instead, live in the Fear of YAH, because His judgment is just and His mercy is everlasting.
5: The Coward will not escape the final Judgement
Revelation 21:8 (ISV)
8) But people who are cowardly, unfaithful, detestable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars will find themselves in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.
Bishop's Insight:
Cowardice is not weakness — it is rebellion. Those who fear man more than YAH reveal unbelief and will share in the judgment of the unfaithful.
6: Fearless in Faith: Held by YAH's Victorious Hand
Isaiah 41:10 (ISV)
10) Don't be afraid, because I'm with you; don't be anxious, because I am YAH. I keep on strengthening you; I'm truly helping you. I'm surely upholding you with my victorious right hand.
Bishop's Insight:
Those who fear YAH never stand alone. His presence destroys anxiety, His strength replaces fear, and His right hand secures the faithful.
7: Invincible Allies: YAH for US, None Against US
Romans 8:31 (ISV)
31) What, then, can we say about all of this? If YAH is for us, who can be against us?
Bishop's Insight:
The armies of men may rise, but when YAH is your shield, they fall. True and complete faith in YAH conquers all fears. YAH's favor is greater than any power that opposes His Elect.
8: Sever Worldly Love: Embrace Eternal Obedience
1 John 2:15–17 (ISV)
15) Stop loving the world and the things that are in the world. If anyone persists in loving the world, YAH's love is not in him.
16) For everything that is in the world—the desire for fleshly gratification, the desire for possessions, and worldly arrogance—is not from the Father but is from the world.
17) And the world and its desires are fading away, but the person who does YAH's will remains forever.
Bishop's Insight:
Worldly affection is spiritual adultery — it causes the heart to abandon YAH's grace and love. Pleasure, pride, and possession are snares that steal the heart's loyalty from YAH. True devotion to YAH cannot dwell in a heart still captivated by worldly lust and desires.
9: Danger: Loving the World Labels You YAH's Enemy
James 4:4 (ISV)
4) You adulterers! Don't you know that friendship with the world means hostility with YAH? So whoever wants to be a friend of this world is an enemy of YAH.
Bishop's Insight:
Friendship with the world is treason against YAH. The soul that seeks the favor of the world becomes YAH's enemy. You cannot walk with YAH while holding hands with the world.
10: Be Transformed: Minds Made for His Will
Romans 12:2 (ISV)
2) Do not be conformed to this world, but continuously be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what YAH's will is—what is proper, pleasing, and perfect.
Bishop's Insight:
The world demands conformity, but YAH commands transformation. True holiness begins in the mind — when our minds are sprinkled clean and renewed by the Commandments of YAH, we will then know what the Will of YAH is.
11: YAH Has No Equal: Dual Devotion is Impossible
Matthew 6:24 (ISV)
24) No one can serve two masters, because either he will hate one and love the other, or be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve YAH and riches!
Bishop's Insight:
Divided loyalty is impossible. Love for the world always competes with love for YAH. Those who fear losing worldly comfort will betray divine allegiance; the elect choose YAH over wealth, reputation, and security.
12: World's hatred for The Elect
John 15:18–19 (ISV)
18) If the world hates you, you should realize that it hated me before you.
19) If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as one of its own. But because you do not belong to the world and I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you.
Bishop's Insight:
The elect reveal their faith in Yeshua the Messiah by obeying His command to "Keep the Commandments." The elect will expose the darkness of this world because they walk before YAH righteously — this is why the world hates them.
The Call to Repentance and Courage
The elect fear YAH alone; their hearts tremble before His throne.
The elect forsake the love of the world and cast off the chains of worldliness.
The elect stand firm though men mock and nations rage.
The elect's faith in Yeshua the Messiah is salvation,
their Fear of YAH is righteousness,
their obedience to the Commandments of YAH is victory over the world.
"Blessed is the man who always fears YAH."— Proverbs 28:14 (ISV)
